I'm Joe, founding engineer at PingProxies and I've developed our core services entirely using Rust. I'll be posting everything I write on Ping's Blog and crossposting them here too.
In the last few months at at Ping, I have...
-
Developed a proxy server library - similar to Pingora by Cloudflare, but generic over multiple protocols - which is currently handling twenty billion requests per day with capacity for considerably more.
-
Developed our own SOCKSv5 and HTTP/1.1 libraries which are more performant and have better ergonmoics for our proxy severs than existing protocol implementations.
-
Researched and developed novel methods for defeating TCP/IP fingerprinting.
I briefly attended Hertfordshire Univesity to study Sculpture, before dropping out to_study Computer Science at the University of Kent. I dropped out of that too when juggling my full-time work at Ping, consulting work at various other startups and working on my thesis became too much.
While I no longer sculpt, I've attached my favourite digital piece below.
